Mom of Many Male Youngsters

TV

September21

I know I’ve been MIA. I know no one cares. So I shall pretend it never happened. Onward…

It being fall, I’ve become a bit obsessive with TV. I haven’t watched any TV all summer and now that the nights are getting colder and it is dark at a reasonable time, I get to watch television again! Or you know, now that there are new shows on I shall neglect my responsibilities and watch TV again.

I have gone over the current offerings and put together a little spreadsheet of sorts to list what and when I need to have access to a television. Yes, I know. GEEK. Spreadsheet for tv viewing. Researching schedules and beginning dates of shows – blah, blah, blah.

Anywaaaay, I have realized that the 9-10 hour seems to be where it’s at. I have at least one choice and some nights a back up choice for that time period. So not fair. Not owning a DVR has made Thursday nights unmanageable. I’m really not sure what the solution is other than watching online. Also, Saturday nights (when I’m home, don’t need to get up the next day and have nothing to do) have not a single thing I want to watch on.

Note to television execs: Fix these issues please.

So my absolute favorite new offering – and yes, I have only seen one of the new offerings so far and am still willing to state it is my favorite – GLEE! Oh how I love thee Glee. It makes me happy. Insanely happy. Jane Lynch? Hysterical! All of them really. I have watched the missed episodes online (I only caught the newest one on tv this week.) and have taken to downloading the music from the show. Sad. I know, I know. Just proves what a geek I am. But the show is so funny and fun and makes me want to sing (don’t worry, I won’t – at least not where you can hear me) and I totally want to give all the Glee kids a hug and pat on the head and tell them they’re wonderful. I’d also like to ask Kurt to come to my house and help me put together some outfits. Maybe take me shopping.

I would also like the original Acafellas to get back together now and then. Except for Puck (I guess he’s not an original though). Him, I want to give my most bad-ass mom look and tell him to keep it in his pants and oh yeah, he’s totally grounded.

Other TV viewing plans: Heroes, Castle, HIMYM, Big Bang Theory, Grey’s, Modern Family, The Office, Community/30 Rock and Dollhouse.

Yes, I still watch Grey’s although I missed most of last season. It’s a shame since when I started watching again I realized I liked Izzy with cancer. Much better less annoying than she usually is.

Now I must get back to getting stuff done so I have time to watch Heroes and Castle (Nathan Fillion – YUM!) tonight.

I am totally with ya girl. I’m taping Heroes tonight (DVR). And LOVE Castle. I watch GLEE, but I’m also into Supernatural on CW, and friends want me to watch The Vampire Diaries. And I’m a big Dollhouse fan. Follow Dusku (sp?). Did you know she was the daughter in the Swartzennegar film Telling Lies with Jamie Lee Curtis? (don’t know if that’s the right name of the movie, but close) And we used to watch True Calling, that was a great show.

I love Glee too so I suppose i am also a “GLEEK”. Love Jane Lynch’s character. The Office, House, Lost (when it comes back on!), The Biggest Loser (gotta have at least 1 reality show in there, right?), Chelsea Lately, Flight of the Conchords are my ‘must see tv’ shows. Stopped watching Grey’s and Heroes but I watched a little bit of Heroes premiere last night and I thought it was actually good (was frustrated with it last year so I bailed on it). Might start up in that one again. A DVR is a must for me in the fall!
